LUCCIANO CAMPOS CRUSHES IT: JUNIOR MEN’S CHAMP IN MOROCCO

Sunday, February 1, Agadir, Morocco.

What an insane, high-intensity final day for the first Rising Series qualifier of the Junior Men’s Division.

It was a day packed with non-stop action, massive swells, heavy currents, and thick fog. Our youngest athletes really had to step up and show what they’re made of—this was a true test of physical grit.

After yesterday’s fog shut down the original schedule, the riders who made it to the finals had to paddle out five separate times today. That is a massive grind, both physically and mentally.

JUNIOR MEN’S DIVISION

ROUND 1

The action kicked off with Heat 3, picking up right where yesterday’s fog delay left off. Morocco’s own Tarfaoui Souhail set a high bar early, moving on with a solid 13-point total.

The standout of the round was the reigning Moroccan and World Champ, Louka Zaninotto (France), proving once again he’s the man to beat. He posted the highest heat total of the round with a 15.75, including a 8.25 wave where he linked together several clean rolls.

Team USA’s Davey Anderson was the big surprise, throwing a huge invert that scored an 8.00 to take first in his heat.

Meanwhile, Peru’s Lucciano Campos had one of the highlights of the day, sticking a super clean invert on a massive set wave for a 9.00, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

ROUND 2

Competition got tight in this round as the swell size—and the pressure—cranked up.

Once again, World Champ Louka Zaninotto dominated with a 15.65 to cruise into the Quarters. His fellow countryman Yohann Bachelard also put on a clinic in his heat.

Young gun Vicente Campos took care of business to finish first, while local favorite El Moutouakil Adam showed that the Moroccan youth scene is no joke.

Ilan Chouard won his heat handily, cementing his spot as a title contender, alongside France’s Mael Martínez Danjou who also moved forward.

QUARTERFINALS

We were down to the Top 12, and everyone left it all out there. The Quarters featured four 3-man heats, with only the top two advancing.

It was pure drama. The athletes had to navigate tricky conditions and heavy currents, but they handled it like pros.

Yohann Bachelard, Louka Zaninotto, Lucciano Campos, and Ilan Chouard all looked unstoppable, winning their respective heats to move into the Semis.

SEMIFINALS

Two 4-man heats. Massive waves. The best talent on tour. It was a total showdown for a spot on the podium.

Heat 1 saw a massive upset: World Champ Louka Zaninotto and standout Davey Anderson were both knocked out. Ilan Chouard and Alberola Peyo survived the nail-biter to move on.

The second heat was all Lucciano Campos. He was locked in from start to finish, posting the high score of the round with a 15.00. Morocco’s Moumou Hamza took second, much to the delight of the home crowd. Italy’s Damiano Bonazzi and France’s Yohann Bachelard bowed out after a great run.

FINAL

The stage was set to crown the 2026 Morocco World Bodyboard Champion.

We had massive sets, long peeling rights, and four “warriors” who had already survived four grueling heats to get here. Their endurance was on full display in some seriously heavy conditions.

After a back-and-forth battle, the results are in. This final proved that the future of global bodyboarding is in very good hands.

We have a new king in Morocco! In a razor-thin finish, the win went to the rider who kept the energy at 100 all week.

Huge congrats to Peru’s LUCCIANO CAMPOS!
