This premier event, a sanctioned stop on the IBC World Tour, will take place on July 5th and 6th in the wave-rich region of Southern Gold Coast, Australia.
The Future Pro’s Junior Men Rising Series offers a golden opportunity for top junior riders to battle it out for a coveted spot in the grand final at the Gran Canaria Frontón King in October. The event promises to showcase the next generation of bodyboarding talent, with flexible locations including Tugun Beach, Currumbin “Flat Rocks”, and Palm Beach to ensure the best possible conditions.
Spearheaded by the dedicated efforts of promoter Silas Ganciar, president of the GCBC, this event has come to fruition thanks to the significant support of the City Of Gold Coast, Inverted Bodyboard, Dan Leyshon, O’Neill, Sunzapper, Lids Bodyboarding, Surf Lakes, Amazon Power, and Youriding. Their commitment is pivotal in bringing this world-class junior competition to Australian shores.
The Gold Coast Bodyboard Club, with a rich history dating back to the late 80s and officially established as GCBC in 2006, is at the forefront of nurturing bodyboarding talent. The club’s mission is to provide a platform for riders to progress, develop junior bodyboarding, and offer a direct pathway to the international stage. GCBC has a proud legacy, having produced some of the sport’s biggest names.
This event is a key part of the IBC World Tour’s new structure, designed to create more opportunities for developing events and athletes worldwide. By fostering locally hosted events, the IBC aims to reduce travel expenses and give riders crucial exposure to a World Tour environment.
