In case you haven’t heard of them, let me introduce you to the two contenders for the IBC World Tour title in the Men’s Division, which will be decided at the Gran Canaria Frontón King from October 12 to 26.

I got into this sport thanks to my dad, who bought a buggy for me and my brothers so we could spend more time outside instead of playing video games. I caught my first wave when I was 8, and I haven’t stopped bodyboarding since then. Without hard work and consistency, I wouldn’t have achieved so much. And I definitely couldn’t have done it without my family, who have always been there to support me. Because of this, I’ve managed to become a three-time champion of Spain, a two-time European champion with the Spanish national team, and also the Junior World Champion, which is the most important title I’ve won. Now, I really want to win in the Men’s Division, as that’s the biggest title and a huge goal for me. On another note, I’m currently studying nursing, which is my main focus. I’d love to become a nurse because it allows me to keep practicing this sport while also helping people directly.

PIERRE LOUIS COSTES

I guess I wasn’t meant to become a professional bodyboarder. I was born in Vichy, which is in the center of France, then I grew up on the Mediterranean coast in Nice, and when I turned 9, we moved to Morocco. That’s where I discovered the ocean. My first bodyboard was a Christmas gift from my parents, and I remember it was the latest model from Mike Stewart. For me, bodyboarding has always been the thing that brings me the best feelings in the world.
