Visit Maldives Pro 2022 – Day 4 – HIGHLIGHTS

Local champion Ali Khusruwan Ahmed (Kuda Ayya) continues his fairytale at visit Maldives pro 2022.

Kuda Ayya secured a semifinal spot in the drop-knee event by beating Chilean Yerko Vasquez. He scored 7.75 points in the heat while Vasquez managed 5.4. Fabien Thazer beat Shimaal Shameem and cruised into the semis while Amaury Lavernhe and David Hubbard also qualified. The semifinals will showcase some of the best talents as Kuda Ayya goes against 8 times dropknee champion David Hubbard while it’s an all French affair in the other semi with Amaury taking on Fabien.

In the Men’s Open Category Kuda Ayya beat Yann Salaun by a score of 12.15 in a buzzing atmosphere in Raalhugandu to book a place in the quarter finals. Yann managed to score 11.15 points in what was one of the most competitive heats of the day.

Tanner McDaniel scored a whopping 18.50 points on his way to the quarter finals where he will take on Kuda Ayya. This will be one of the most exciting heats to watch out on the next day of action.

The world number one Tristan Roberts also got through into the quarters with 14.30 points. He was behind Robert Barman up until the last two minutes of the heat but changed the tides to his side on the last few waves. It will be Fabien Thazer who will be competing against top seed Tristan after winning his heat.

Armide Soliveres outscored in-form Moroccan Brahim Iddouch in round 4. Armide managed to score 16.65 points while Brahim managed an overall score of 12.25. Armide will go against David Hubbard in the quarters. It was an easy path for former Champions Amaury Lavernhe and Pierre Louis Costes as they look to compete against each other in quarter finals.

In the Junior Open semi’s Gabriel Molina and Aamin Moosa won their heats to setup a spicy final. Gabriel had a comfortable win in semifinal heat against Jareesh Jihad, whereas Aamin moosa had to hold on his nerves to beat local junior champion Shimal Shameem.
