INTERVIEW WITH ALEXANDRA RINDER / HISTORIC CHAMP

Born to an Austrian father and a German mother, but raised in the Canary Islands, this 27-year-old rider has made a significant mark in the history of bodyboarding.

She’s a two-time world champion, which is a huge achievement that only a few have reached, and she’s also the youngest world champion in the history of our sport.

She’s known for her aggressive surfing style, especially on powerful waves, and her personality—she’s a very cheerful person who spreads good energy wherever she goes.

Without a doubt, she’s a role model for everyone.

My Childhood was the best a kid can have in the Canary Islands, once my brother introduced me to bodyboarding there was no way back.

  • How did it feel to become the youngest world champion in bodyboarding history at just 16 years old?

It was never something I expected to happen so fast in my life, but I put the hard work in and went to perform at my best. The feeling of having that trophy in my hands for the first time was incredible.

Experience really helps with dealing under pressure.

I love my family, they all have been there since day one supporting and still do to this day. I couldn’t wish for a better support system.
My brother never failed in being there pushing me to become stronger in the sport. And my parents, they thought me how to never give up and that no matter what, they were always there.
