🗓️ Updated for the 2025 Season
Discover the new Junior Division format: Participate in just one official event to qualify for your division’s Grand Final—either at Frontón King in Gran Canaria or Wahine Bodyboard Pro in Brazil. This new structure reduces travel, lowers costs, and offers more global opportunities for the next generation of champions.
Dear athletes and parents,
The IBC World Tour has introduced a more inclusive structure for the Junior Division in 2025. This change aims to reduce the financial and educational burdens on young athletes by requiring participation in only one official Junior IBC event to qualify for the Grand Final of their category.
To qualify for the Grand Final at the Gran Canaria Frontón King (October 12–24, 2025), Junior Men athletes need to participate in at least one of the following events:
Only the best result will count towards the ranking. The top 48 athletes will receive an invitation to register for the Grand Final. If an athlete does not register within one week, the invitation will pass to the next in the ranking until all 48 spots are filled. The competition format will start from the first round without seeding.ibcworldtour.com
Due to the lack of proposed events in the first quarter, the IBC has decided to hold a single World Championship event for Junior Women:ibcworldtour.com+1ibcworldtour.com+1
All participants will compete from the first round in a non-seeded format.
This new format separates Junior categories from adult events, allowing competitions to be held over a maximum of four consecutive days. This approach minimizes economic impact and school absenteeism, supporting both the athletic and academic development of young athletes.ibcworldtour.com
