The International Bodyboarding Corporation (IBC) is stoked to announce the launch of “BEYOND THE TOUR,” an ambitious video podcast series designed to dive deep into the stories, the people, and the culture that define our sport.
Through exclusive interviews and an up-close visual style, this project aims to give fans a more personal look at their idols, building a bridge between the competitive scene and the life of the athlete.
Paul Benco: The Voice of Experience from Hawaii to the Canaries
The project features a heavy-hitter behind the mic: Paul Benco. Originally from Hawaii and now based in the Canary Islands, Paul is a deeply respected figure in the global community known for his wisdom and charisma. His track record brings the perfect balance of authority and presence to lead this new era of IBC communication.
“I see this project as the essential link the IBC needs to keep the Tour’s momentum going,” says Benco. “This video podcast is all about connecting two worlds: the free surfer in all of us and the competitive side driven by personal goals. These two universes will come to life not just through the riders, but through the influential voices that have shaped our sport”.
A Legendary Start: Tristan Roberts and Jeff Hubbard
The premiere of “BEYOND THE TOUR” kicks off with world-class guests:
- Episode 1 (First week of March): Our guest of honor is South African powerhouse and current world #1, Tristan Roberts. The multi-time World Champ will sit down in front of the camera to share his takes and let fans get to know him outside of a contest jersey.
- Episode 2 (Confirmed): We’ll be joined by a living legend of bodyboarding, Hawaii’s own Jeff Hubbard, whose impact on the sport is second to none.
