Day one of the 2026 IBC World Tour is officially in the books! Once again, the season kicked off right here at Anza Beach, Morocco.
Today marked the start of the first Rising Series qualifier for the Junior Men’s Division. This is their first shot at racking up points to snag one of the 48 spots for the big finale this October at the Gran Canaria Frontón King.
JUNIOR MEN’S DIVISION – ROUND 1
Competitors checked in at 8:30 AM local time, but the organizers had to push back the start as a heavy fog rolled into beautiful Anza Beach.
The action finally got underway at 10:00 AM, but unfortunately, the first heat had to be red-flagged 10 minutes in because of zero visibility. After waiting it out for over an hour, the first heat finally got back in the water.
In Heat 1, French rider Alberola Peyo crushed it with a total score of 11.25, followed by fellow countryman Athanae Blanchard.
Mexico’s Ilan Chouard advanced in first place, with Moroccan local El Moutouakil Adam hot on his heels.
Heavy fog made things tough for the judges and the tech crew, so we only managed to get through two heats and half of the third. Because of the conditions, the organizers decided to call it a day and postpone the rest until tomorrow, Sunday.
Check-in for the Junior Men’s Division is tomorrow at 8:30 AM local time.
A reminder: the Junior Men’s Rising Series wraps up tomorrow. Starting Monday the 2nd, the waiting period begins for the Men’s Division Prime Series.
