The IBC is stoked to present the path to the title taken by each of our World Champions across all divisions in the 2025 season.
MEN’S DIVISION: ROAD TO THE TITLE
In the Men’s Division, athletes counted their 3 best results for their total score.
URI VALADAO (Brazil) – 14,820 POINTS
- Uri: Winning the world championship for the second time in my career was a huge rush, man. It felt like all the hard work really paid off. It was a brutal year—tons of training and totally dedicated. But in the end, everything worked out, and I nailed that dream! Now it’s back to grinding/training hard so I can try to be a three-time world champion!

The Brazilian claimed his second career World Title after a super intense tour that literally came down to the final day of competition.
- Morocco
He snagged first place at the 2025 Taghazout Bay Morocco Pro after a nail-biting final against Pierre Louis Costes in some spectacular conditions.

- Brazil
Things didn’t quite go his way on his home turf. At the 2025 ITACOATIARA PRO, he couldn’t get past Round 5, which opened up the rankings for the other contenders.

- Chile
He took second place in Chile at the Iquique Bodyboard Pro 2025. He couldn’t beat the powerhouse Armide Soliveres in the final, the same athlete he was battling for the world title right up until the last day.

- Portugal
It wasn’t the Brazilian’s best year at the Sintra Bodyboard Pro Festival 2025. He’s usually one of the guys to beat there, but this time he couldn’t finish better than 17th.

- Spain
Uri grabbed a 5th place finish at the Gran Canaria Frontón King after being knocked out in the quarter-finals by his friend and countryman, Eder Luciano. It was an unforgettable heat with an insane level of riding. Everything then came down to Pierre Louis Costes, who couldn’t make it to the final, which meant the title went to the Brazilian.

WOMEN’S DIVISION: ROAD TO THE TITLE
In the Women’s Division, athletes counted their 3 best results for their total rank score.
ALEXANDRA RINDER (Austria) – 12,350 POINTS
- Alexandra: “Honestly, winning this year felt unreal—it was a goal I’d been fighting for for ten whole years! It just proved to me, yet again, that you should never, ever give up. I had ten years of serious ups and downs in my sports career, so locking in this third World Title fills me with so much pride! For 2026, my main goals are just to really soak up my sport and everything that comes with it. But yeah, obviously, I’m absolutely going to be going after another World Title, too!”

The Austrian/Canary Islands representative clinched her third World Title after many years, showing the world she’s one of the fittest riders of all time.
- Morocco Alexandra took second place at the 2025 Taghazout Bay Morocco Pro after an unbelievable final where Japan’s Namika Yamashita came out on top.

- Chile She became champion at the Iquique Bodyboard Pro 2025, where she showed how solid she is and took the top spot in the rankings by defeating the event’s young standout, Constanza Soto from Chile, in the final.

- Brazil The ArcelorMittal Wahine Bodyboarding Pro 2025 was the main event for the ladies, where Alexandra had to battle Japan’s Namika Yamashita for the World Title. Alexandra ended up with a 5th place finish but still managed to clinch the World Title for the third time in her career.

JUNIOR MEN’S DIVISION: ROAD TO THE TITLE
This year, the IBC rolled out a brand-new format for the Junior Men, featuring several continental qualifier events called the Rising Series. These events gave the top 48 athletes a pass to compete in the Grand Final at the Gran Canaria Frontón King 2025.
LOUKA ZANINOTTO (France)
- Louka: “To be honest, I’m only just realizing that I’m the 2025 world champion. It was a truly incredible feeling, and I hope to experience it again next year, which is one of my goals. My second goal is to finish in the top 16 in the open category.”

This young talent showed off a capability and versatility in every heat that was truly admirable, handling all kinds of different conditions.
- Morocco The first Rising Series event was held at the 2025 Taghazout Bay Morocco Pro. This rider’s performance was all anyone could talk about, putting on a massive show and winning the event, which gave him a direct ticket to the Grand Final.

- Spain The Gran Canaria Frontón King 2025 was the stage for the Junior Men’s Grand Final. The top 48 qualifiers went head-to-head in one of the world’s most powerful waves, with truly epic conditions. Louka put all his cards on the table throughout the contest, showing he dominates powerful waves, too, and riding some seriously solid waves in an incredible final heat. Definitely a well-deserved World Champion.

JUNIOR WOMEN’S DIVISION: ROAD TO THE TITLE
The Junior Women’s division was decided by a single event, a Grand Final, held in Brazil, where the winner was crowned World Champion.
ALICE TEOTONIO (Portugal)
Alice: “I would say that being world champion is amazing and it’s a dream that came true. In 2026 my goal it’s to be junior world champion again and being able to show my best bodyboard!”

- Brazil Grand Final ArcelorMittal Wahine Bodyboarding Pro 2025. This was definitely a highly anticipated event for the women, where an awesome atmosphere and great riding ruled the day.

Alice Teotonio took the World Title after several rounds, finishing the final against her friend and countrywoman, Luana Dourado, who was also one of the season’s breakout stars.
MASTER WOMEN’S DIVISION: ROAD TO THE TITLE
A single event for the Master Women, also held in Brazil, where we saw the bodyboarding legends giving it their all to snag the title.
JOSELANI AMORIM (Brazil)

- Brazil Grand Final ArcelorMittal Wahine Bodyboarding Pro 2025. This country is the cradle of bodyboarding, especially for the women’s scene, which is why we saw so many heats dominated by Brazilian athletes.

The Grand Final saw Joselani Amorim claim the World Title against none other than her countrywoman Maylla Venturin, an athlete with a seriously recognized resume.
“Big congrats to all the champs!” “Next year, no doubt, we’ll go even bigger/we’ll do even better!”
