In addition, the PRO JUNIOR WOMEN heat welcomes its semifinalists; competition reaches the final stretch with more excitement to come. 

The critical phase of the ArcelorMittal Wahine Bodyboarding Pro has arrived. This Tuesday, April 25th, at Jacaraípe Beach, in Espírito Santo, three divisions advanced and entered the competition’s most decisive phase. While the WOMEN and MASTER divisions defined the athletes that advanced on to Round 16, the PRO JUNIOR WOMEN division determined who would be the competitors in the semifinals.

The pros opened and closed the day in the water. In the first four heats, two athletes advanced in each heat and won a direct spot in Round 16: Namika Yamashita (JPN), Neymara Carvalho (BRA), Joselani Amorim (BRA) and Alexandra Rinder (CNY) placed first—while Maíra Viana ( BRA), Maylla Venturin (BRA), Sari Ohara (JPN) and Teresa Miranda (CNY) placed second.

During the second part of the competition, the competitors who placed last in the first round had another opportunity to advance. The best performances were by Joana Schenker (POR), Naara Carolyne (BRA), Dalete Mousinho (BRA) and Mariana Rosa (POR).

Getting closer to the final, the PRO JUNIOR WOMEN division met its semifinalists today. During the first heat of the day, Bianca Simões (BRA) got the best result, adding 9.90; followed by Luana Dourado (POR) with 7.90. The second heat ended with Luna Hardman (BRA) in first with 11.75; followed by Aarya Tabalno (HAW), who scored 9.50. All four advanced to the next round.

The MASTER division, on the other hand, reached the Round 16 with fierce competition. The big winners were Catarina Sousa (POR), Maylla Venturin (BRA), Soraia Rocha (BRA), Joselani Amorim (BRA), Mariana Nogueira (BRA), Elizangela Fragoso (BRA), Karla Costa (HAW) and Graziela Monteiro (BRA). Adriane Oliveira (BRA), Gica Vargas (BRA), Dadá Oliveira (BRA), Juliana Dourado (BRA), Clarissa Barros (BRA), Gutta Borges (BRA), Naara Carolyne (BRA) and Francis Aoto (BRA)—who also advanced to the next round.

The Wahine Bodyboarding Pro is organized by Instituto Neymara Carvalho and IBC, with master sponsorship by ArcelorMittal, the Government of the State of Espírito Santo through the Capixaba Sports Incentive Law, and the Municipality of Serra, in addition to the support of Grupo Coroa.
