ArcelorMittal Wahine Bodyboarding Pro holds second to the last day with surprises and finalists

WOMEN, MASTER and PRO JUNIOR WOMEN divisions enter the final stretch and will host the champions this Thursday. 

All or nothing! The ArcelorMittal Wahine Bodyboarding Pro is moving towards the final  rounds of its second edition and will soon host the champions of 2023. This Wednesday, April 26th, the athletes from the WOMEN, MASTER and JUNIOR PRO WOMEN divisions entered the water at Jacaraípe Beach, in Espírito Santo, in the battle for advancement to the final heats.

The last day of the competition will be this Thursday, April 27th. The event is scheduled to start at 8 am. The finals of the three heats begin at 11 am. We will then find out who will be crowned winners for the WOMEN, MASTER and PRO JUNIOR divisions. All events will be broadcasted live on the IBC Bodyboarding World Tour YouTube channel. 

PRO JUNIOR WOMEN will be the first of the three divisions to determine its finalists. In the exciting semifinals winding down until the last minute, Aayara Tabalno (HAW) and Luna Hardman (BRA) defeated Bianca Simões (BRA) and Luana Dourado (POR). Aayara and Luna will duel for the title tomorrow in the day’s first final heat. 

In the WOMEN division, after competing in the last qualifying round, eight athletes advanced into the quarterfinals vying for four spots. In the first match, Namika Yamashita (JPN) beat current champion Neymara Carvalho (BRA). Her opponent will be Joana Schenker (POR), who defeated Maíra Viana (BRA).

Finalizing the places in the quarterfinals, Joselani Amorim (BRA) beat Alexandra Rinder (CNY). Sari Ohara (JPN) had an even better heat. She claimed her spot against Dalete Mousinho (BRA).

The MASTER category was intense. Eight athletes advanced. Tomorrow’s match-ups will include; Catarina Sousa (POR) vs Maylla Venturin (BRA); Soraia Rocha (BRA) vs Joselani Amorim (BRA); Mariana Nogueira (BRA) vs Clarissa Barros (BRA); and Francis Aoto (BRA) vs Naara Carolyne (BRA).

The ArcelorMittal Wahine Bodyboarding Pro is organized by the Instituto Neymara Carvalho and the IBC World Tour. The event was sponsored by ArcelorMittal (master sponsor), the Government of the State of Espírito Santo through the Capixaba Sports Incentive Law, and the Municipality of Serra, in addition to the support of Grupo Coroa.
