After a day of rest due to the sea conditions not being optimal for the competition, today, the third day of the Antofagasta Bodyboard Festival World Championship (ABF) 2024 resumed.

Although conditions did not improve completely, it was decided to proceed with rounds 2, 3, and 4 of the Junior Men’s division, which brought very good results for the Chilean contenders, as 7 national athletes are already among the top 12 alongside representatives from Spain, Brazil, Hawaii, and Peru, which boasts the current world champion of the division, Michel Yancce.

This outstanding Chilean riders were:  Mikelle Arriagada, Agustín Díaz, Ismael Nazir, Agustín Castillo, Cristóbal Tobar, Gaspar López, and Esteben Godoy, 14 years old, representing Los Vilos, who in round 4 achieved very good combinations, also securing one of the highest scores. Regarding this, he commented:

“I have been practicing bodyboarding since I was 8 years old, this is my third world championship, I think I’m doing well, I will continue to give it my all and try to go as far as possible to bring my city of Los Vilos to the top.”

The Peruvian reigning world champion of the Junior Men’s division, Yancce, obtained the highest combined scores, with a 13.50, which propelled him from round 3 directly to 5, positioning himself as one of the favorites, as in the previous version of this event, the Peruvian had an impeccable performance, securing the top distinction.
