Monday, June 23rd, Punta 2, Iquique, Chile.
The final day kicked off at 7:30 am local time on one of the best waves in the world circuit.

It was a day to remember in the history of bodyboarding. Perfect conditions, no wind, and crystal-clear waves made for an epic final day of the Iquique Bodyboard Pro 2025.

Without a doubt, an epic day full of surprises, excitement, intensity, showtime, and the best bodyboarding in the world.
QUARTERFINALS / MEN PRIME SERIES
Men-to-Men battles where only one can come out on top — a true spectacle. Those who advance in this round go straight to the podium in Iquique.

In the first heat of the day, South African Tristan Roberts faced one of Chile’s top riders, Moisés Silva. After an incredible show, the South African took the win, making it his fourth year in a row to reach the podium in Iquique. Moisés Silva, a beloved rider in Chile, was sent off with applause, finishing fifth and heading back to Arica with a well-deserved spot on the podium.

The second heat was super close — decided by just 0.15 points. From the Canary Islands, current world champ Armide Soliveres went up against Peru’s rising star Cristopher Bayona. It was a very intense heat with constant exchanges of position. This time, Cristopher came up just short, finishing fifth but earning respect from all his rivals for his high level of skill. Armide, on the other hand, is very motivated heading into the semifinals.

A highly anticipated moment: local rider Agustín Figueroa from La Punta 2, who’s also the only rider this year to score a perfect 10, faced none other than multiple world champ Uri Valadao from Brazil. Figueroa scored well but couldn’t match the unstoppable Uri, who achieved the highest total score of the entire event — an impressive 18.75 out of 20, with a variety of maneuvers and tubes.

The last quarterfinal heat saw Moroccan revelation Badr Eddine Chajari go up against one of the best surfers at La Punta 2, Brazilian Gabriel Braga. It was a fiery showdown between two explosive athletes tearing up the right of this wave. Badr tried everything but couldn’t get past Gabriel, who reminded everyone why this wave is one of his favorites worldwide.

SEMIFINALS / WOMEN PRIME SERIES
Time for the top female athletes of the Iquique Bodyboard Pro — four semi-finalists eager to compete and give us another great show.

The first semi was a battle between young talents. Japan’s Namika Yamashita, currently ranked #1 in the IBC, faced Chile’s young star Constanza Soto. What a surprise she’s been — just 15 years old and coming all the way from the first round, she managed to beat one of the best in the world. She’s definitely a new star in the making. Namika leaves the competition with a well-deserved third place.

Brazilian Nicolle Calheiros faced Austrian Alexandra Rinder. This was one of the most exciting heats of the day. Conditions were a bit slow, with fewer waves, but Alexandra made the most of every opportunity, executing several left roll maneuvers that earned her the win and a spot in the final. Nicolle, though out, kept smiling and thanked everyone for their support.

SEMIFINALS / MEN PRIME SERIES
Now, the highly anticipated men’s semi-finals — each heat promising to be a showcase of the best bodyboarding in the world, with four top champions.

The first semi was crazy — Tristan Roberts, definitely the rider to beat in Iquique, faced Armide Soliveres, who’s won all his heats so far. Tristan pushed until the last second, showing his usual high level, but this time he had to settle for third place. Armide, from the Canary Islands, just destroys waves with tubes and aerial maneuvers, scoring a solid 16.25 to earn his spot in the final.

The second semifinal was a showdown between two great friends, Brazilian surfers from Salvador de Bahia, Gabriel Braga and Uri Valadao. They gave us a masterclass on how to surf a long, powerful right, all with a lot of respect for each other. Both love this wave and have a special connection with it, but Uri once again showed his best side, scoring a brutal total of 17.25, earning him a well-deserved spot in the final. Gabriel finished third and will definitely be back fighting for the world title.

URI VALADAO: “It’s really tough to compete against Gabriel because we’re such good friends. We surf together all the time, travel together, and we have a lot of love and respect for each other. But we know in the water, everyone’s gotta do their job, and I tried to give it my all because I know Gabriel is a beast on this wave. In my opinion, he’s one of the best riders out there. I knew I had to do really well to beat him, so I’m super happy.”

GRAND FINAL / WOMEN PRIME SERIES
Without a doubt, an epic final featuring Alexandra Rinder, the youngest bodyboarder in history to become a world champion at just 16, against Constanza Soto, who at only 15 has been the revelation of the Iquique Bodyboard Pro.

It was a close contest decided by small details. Constanza tried everything she could, but unfortunately, she couldn’t finish a few maneuvers, so she couldn’t beat the Canary Islander. She finished the heat with tears in her eyes but was also very proud of her achievement, hugging her rival and teammate Alexandra Rinder.

CONSTANZA SOTO: “I’m so happy to represent Chile. This is a gift for me—having everyone cheering and clapping. Thanks to everyone supporting me, sponsors, family, friends, etc. I think this is just the beginning; I’ll keep fighting for more. Thanks, Chile!”

Meanwhile, Alexandra Rinder, representing Austria but born and raised in the Canary Islands, stuck to her strategy of surfing more lefts at La Punta 2. She connected a good wave with three rolls and another with an ARS maneuver. Those waves earned her victory at the Iquique Bodyboard Pro 2025, making her the new CHAMPION of this event.

ALEXANDRA RINDER : “It’s Constanza’s first year, and it’s amazing she has that mindset at just 15. I’m so happy and feel very lucky to have achieved this. I’m fighting to become world champion again. Huge thanks to my family, friends, sponsors, the people of the Canary Islands. Thanks to my Chilean family and how well they’ve treated me. Canary Islands, I take the trophy home! Love you all! It’s been many years since I’ve been on top of the podium, and it feels amazing.”

GRAND FINAL / MEN PRIME SERIES
Two of the best bodyboarders in the world, one of the best waves, great conditions, and an event of undeniable quality—everything for an incredible final.

The title was on the line with Uri Valadao from Brazil, “Salvador de Bahia,” against Armide Soliveres from Spain, “Canary Islands.”
Uri stayed connected to La Punta 2 throughout the competition. This time, luck wasn’t on his side, but he still scored a high total of 15.15, destroying every wave he surfed with a great combo of maneuvers. Still, it wasn’t enough, and the Brazilian took second place, having the best overall scores of the event.

Armide started strong with his first wave—an impressive 9 points—nailing a deep, clean tube and finishing with a roll in the third section. That wave made all the difference in the heat. To seal his victory, he performed a clean inverted air, scored at 7.5. And so, we have a new CHAMPION of the Iquique Bodyboard Pro 2025!

ARMIDE SOLIVERES: “I feel incredibly happy, I don’t even know how to explain it. It’s such an honor to compete against all my idols, the people I look up to to get better. I want to send a message to all the Canary Islanders around the world—look what you can achieve from such small islands. Thanks to everyone who helped me get here—my family, girlfriend, friends, sponsors—and especially to all the Chileans who have always treated me so well. Love you all!”

The fourth edition of the Iquique Bodyboard Pro wrapped up with an emotional awards ceremony. It’s worth highlighting that this event is the only one on the world tour that offers the same prize money for women and men.
