The fifth qualifying event of the IBC Junior Men Rising Series is confirmed to take place in the Canary Islands, Gran Canaria, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The competition will be held between August 19 and August 24.
The location may change depending on wave conditions. The selected surf spots are El Caletón in San Cristóbal and La Cícer in Playa de Las Canteras, both located in the municipality of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Please note that spots are limited, and the organizers will provide more details as the event approaches.
For this edition, IBC and the Canary Islands Surf and Bodyboard Federation will work together, so this Grom King event will count towards the Canary Islands Bodyboard Circuit.
This is great news to motivate and support the local bodyboard talent in the Canary Islands, as participants will have the chance to qualify for the final event of the world tour, with opportunities to become world and Canary Islands champions.
We inform Canary Island riders that to participate in the Grom King, they must be registered with the Canary Islands Surf and Bodyboard Federation.
Athletes from outside the Canary Islands must be registered with their respective federations.
Remember that all Junior Men Rising Series events are qualifiers for the grand final, which will be held from October 11 to October 25 at the Gran Canaria Frontón King. Junior men will earn points to secure one of the 48 spots in the final, taking place at the Gran Canaria Frontón King in October.
The event promoter, Epic Events, together with the IBC World Tour and the Federación Canaria de Surf, considers this event very important for the development of young athletes from the Canary Islands, Spain, and Europe.

Throughout the season, new Rising Series events have been added to the IBC calendar, aiming to give juniors more opportunities within their countries. The goal of this new structure is to reduce expenses and travel, allowing more focus on academic training.
