Staying true to our goal of making IBC events about more than just bodyboarding, we keep organizing social activities that help bring different communities together.
GRAN CANARIA FRONTÓN KING – SOCIAL
As every year, the Gran Canaria Frontón King team took the initiative to welcome visits from local schools.
Kids of all ages got to visit the event while it was in full swing — an exciting experience for them!
The first group to stop by was from IES Guía, who toured the venue and interacted with several athletes as part of their English and French assignments. They asked tons of questions and showed great interest throughout the visit.
We also had a visit from Asociación Pequeño Valiente, a foundation that supports children with cancer. Their visit brought us a lot of joy — seeing them smile and have fun at a bodyboarding event was truly heartwarming.
Later that day, the youngest students from CEIP Arencibia Sosa not only got to explore the event site, but also enjoyed a special moment: ASOCAN (Canary Islands Lifesaving Association) presented their children’s book “Lifeguard in Action”, created for kids up to 10 years old to teach them the basics of lifesaving.
GRAN CANARIA FRONTÓN KING – SUSTAINABLE
Every year, this event steps up its commitment to social and environmental initiatives.
This edition has gone above and beyond — becoming the first sports event in Spain powered entirely by solar energy. Thanks to the collaboration with Bee Green, the event venue’s roof was covered with solar panels — and of course, the always amazing Gáldar sunshine did the rest!
We also partnered with Bluetti, who provided several sustainable power stations so riders and visitors could recharge their devices during the event.
Tomorrow, Wednesday the 22nd, the technical committee has called competitors to meet at 9:45 a.m. local time to check ocean conditions and decide whether to continue with the fourth day of competition.
Gran Canaria Frontón King 2025, organized by Epic Events, is promoted by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria through the Insular Institute of Sports, Turismo de Gran Canaria, and the Presidency Department, with collaboration from the Gáldar City Council, Citroen, BeGreen, Corona, Munchitos, Bluetti, RedBull, Ozeano, Grupo Félix Santiago Melián, Link Store, Fitness Park, Our Style Canarias, and Loype Eventos.
