THE 2026 ARCELORMITTAL WAHINE BODYBOARD PRO IS OFFICIALLY UNDERWAY!
JACARAÍPE, ESPÍRITO SANTO (BRAZIL) – SEPTEMBER 11, 2026 Things kicked off bright and early at 9:00 AM local time along the Jacaraípe coast for the ArcelorMittal Wahine Bodyboard Pro, the highly anticipated final stop of the IBC World Tour. As the biggest women's bodyboard event on the planet, this showdown will crown the 2026 World Champs across the Women, Junior Women, and Master Women divisions.
Day 1 saw plenty of action with the Trials, Rounds 1 and 2 of the Women’s Division, and Round 1 of the Master Women.
Nail-biting Trials for the Main Draw The trialists went head-to-head in two wild heats, battling for just two open slots per heat. Brazilian riders Patricia Helena and Vida Andrade set the pace by dropping total scores over 11 points to win their heats, while Amaya Tekei and Nicole Calheiros locked in second-place finishes to advance.
Master Women Bring the Heat Despite tough surf conditions, the veterans showed off serious high-level technique in a non-elimination round. Maylla Venturin snagged the single best wave of the division (7.75) and the highest total score (14.00). Catarina Sousa and Nicole Calheiros also put on a clinic, both locking in 7.50 waves to win their heats, with Marta Leitão, Bia Jesús, Juliana Dourado, and Soraia Rocha also advancing in first.
Patricia Helena Dominates the Women’s Division Patricia Helena was the absolute MVP of the day, throwing down a massive 9.00 single wave score and a event-high total of 15.50. Fellow Brazilian Francis Aoto put on a power display with an 8.25 wave (14.25 total), while Emie Padois and Argentina’s Antonella Ramondo also took top spots in their heats.
Next Call Check-in for Saturday is set for 10:30 AM local time, with a target start time of 11:00 AM if the ocean plays along.
