- What does bodyboarding bring to your life?
It’s what I love to do and as long as there’s waves i’ll go surf everyday for hours, competing in the sport or traveling around the world filming bodyboarding is what i wanna do as a career.
- How do you see the level of bodyboarding in Maldives?
It’s improved a lot in the past few years and become more competitive as well, I have a lot to learn but having riders like Ali Khushruwan and Sham Rafiu to learn from pushes my riding and all the locals to work more to improve.
- Do you think that since the IBC World Tour has held a world championship event in Maldives, it has gained practitioners and popularity?
Having an IBC event has given us local riders the confidence that we can compete on international riders as well and increased the popularity of the sport in the country a lot and more people are interested and have got into the sport. Now, we has got more athletes to focus and work more to improve our riding and we have an event to look forward to, surfing with the best bodyboarders and learning from them during the event.
- What are your dreams?
My dream is to be able to compete against the best riders in the world at the top level and fight for a world title one day.
- What is your favorite wave for bodyboarding in Maldives?
My favourite wave is Varunulaa Raalhugandu, it’s where I surf everyday and I never get bored of it, another wave I really like in the Maldives is Miyaru Faru, I’ve got some of my favourite barrel rides there.
- What are your expectations for the Visit Maldives Pro 2024?
It’s gonna be very difficult and competitive but a really good event, I wanna be able to show my best riding and hopefully go to a good round in the main event as its my first year just surfing in the mens division.
- A few words to motivate bodyboarders to visit Maldives:
Maldives is perfect for bodyboarders, endless variety of glassy waves to ride through out the country in warm waters!
- Here is your space to thank or write whatever you feel like:
I would like to thank my mom and my family for making it possible to chase this dream and also MBBA for the work they do and giving us local riders opportunities to compete and show our riding on a world tour event, and I hope to be able to compete on the full tour at the top level one day.
