On August 1st, the show kicks off at the Visit Maldives Pro 2024!

Everything’s set for one of the most anticipated events on the IBC World Tour, the Visit Maldives Pro 2024.

Just a reminder, the divisions will be MEN, WOMEN, and JUNIOR MEN.

The three wildcards for the different divisions have already been announced based on their achievements. In the Women division, we have Luana Dourado from Portugal, in the Junior Men division, Jorge Hernández from the Canary Islands, and in Men division, Alexander Montes, also from the Canary Islands.

The athletes are already in Malé, Maldives, getting in their training to give it their all at this event.

WOMEN DIVISION
It’s worth noting that there’s a record number of entries in the Women’s division in the Maldives. This is definitely a crucial stage since it’s super competitive.

The current leader and breakout star of the season, Maira Viana, just won both events in Chile and will be looking to solidify her top spot in the rankings. The Brazilian is showing amazing form and will definitely be the one to beat in the Maldives.

Brazilian Luna Hardman is the reigning world champion in the Junior Women division and is currently ranked number 2 in the Women division. This young rider is aiming for a historic feat and will fight to be the first to win world titles in two divisions in the same year.

Maylla Venturi from Brazil has a lot of chances to keep climbing the rankings and reach her goal of becoming world champion.

A big piece of news is that Japanese rider Sari Ohhara is back in competition after missing the events in Chile. She won the first two events of the year, so this is huge for bodyboarding, and she’s definitely a rider to watch for some exciting action.

Teresa Miranda, last year’s champion in the Maldives, is back to defend her title. The Canary Islander is always a tough competitor in any kind of waves, and we’re sure she won’t make it easy for her opponents.

JUNIOR MEN DIVISION
In the Junior Men division, we gotta highlight the current leader, Alexander Montes from the Canary Islands, who’s also snagged a wildcard for this event.

Mikelle Arriagada from Chile is ranked number 2 and is already in the Maldives, ready to keep fighting for that Junior World Champion title.

Michael Yancce, the current Junior Men champ from Peru, will also be showing up in the Maldives, so you know it’s gonna be a great show!

MEN DIVISION
Armide Soliveres, the rider from the Canary Islands, is leading the Men division. He’s definitely the breakout athlete of the season, showing solid performance in every event. After his recent win in Itacoaitiara, Brazil, he’s ready to give it his all in the Maldives to chase one of his dreams: becoming the world champion.

The Brazilian Gabriel Braga, ranked number 2, is really close to Armide. He was the champ in the first event of the year in Morocco and he’s having an amazing season. No doubt he’s a strong contender for the world title and he’s not going to make it easy for his competitors.

Tristan Roberts from South Africa, currently ranked number 3 in the world, isn’t gonna miss this event in the Maldives either. The former world champ is always a dangerous rider and is still in the hunt for the world title.

Remember, you can catch this event live from anywhere in the world on this official page!
