PASCUALES, MEXICO – July 3, 2026 – The International Bodyboarding Comitee (IBC) World Tour has officially kicked off the highly anticipated 2026 Pascuales Bodyboard Pro. Running from July 3 to July 9, this premier event brings together some of the world’s best bodyboarders to battle for crucial points and prestigious qualification spots.
- Day 1 launched in spectacular 4-to-6-foot triangular peaks;
- The opening day focused entirely on the Junior Men Rising Series, giving the sport’s future stars the canvas to showcase their skills in heavy waters.
- Josue Guevara, the standout performer of the day, locked in the highest combined heat score (15.00 points) in Round 1 and the highest single-wave score (9.00 points) in Round 2 with a massive backflip.
- An international showdown is set for Tomorrow’s Finals Day, featuring five athletes from Mexico, one from France, one from Portugal, and one from Italy.
- The top six finishers in the Junior division will secure automatic entry into the Gran Canaria Fronton King Grand Final this October.

The event window opened bright and early today with a 6:15 AM local call, leading to a sharp 7:30 AM start. Competitors were greeted by a truly cinematic arena, heavy, dark water breaking over volcanic black sand, framed by a dense tropical forest of palm trees. With waves around 4-to-6-foot A-frame peaks under a whisper-thin offshore breeze, Day 1 had it all to be an epic day of competition.
With a massive swell projected to build over the coming days, the technical staff strategically dedicated Day 1 to the opening rounds of the Junior Men Rising Series, saving the heavier conditions for the upcoming Men’s Rising Series, which features 2,500 points for the IBC World Tour general ranking.
Round 1 tested both the skill and nerve of the young competitors. Many of the athletes, particularly a strong contingent of local Mexican riders, admitted to pre-heat jitters as they made their official IBC World Tour debuts.
The undisputed star of Day 1 was Josue Guevara. Guevara set the standard in Round 1, stringing together an 8.00 and a 7.00 to secure the day’s highest combined heat total of 15.00 points. He carried that momentum straight into the final heat of Round 2, executing a razor-sharp, pronounced bottom turn before launching into a massive backflip. The judges rewarded the maneuver with a 9.00, the single highest wave score of the day.
With Rounds 1 and 2 complete, the stage is set for a historic Junior Men Rising Series Finals Day tomorrow. The Quarterfinals have been locked in, showcasing an exciting blend of local dominance and international flair, featuring Athanäé Blanchard, Oliver Díaz, Ilan Chouard, Alexander Aguilar, Andy Kale Medina, Vicente Campos, Josue Guevara, Damiano Bonazzi
The morning call is set for 6:30 AM tomorrow, with a sharp 7:00 AM start. Similar conditions are expected, with 4-to-6-foot peaks and light morning offshore winds providing the perfect platform to crown the Junior champion of this spectacular event. Beyond the event trophy, the stakes couldn’t be higher, the top six finishers this week guarantee their golden ticket to the Gran Canaria Fronton King Grand Final in October, where the 2026 Junior Men World Champion will be crowned.
Following the conclusion of the Junior division, event organizers will shift focus to the Men’s division as the incoming swell begins to peak.
