Pascuales, Colima, Mexico — July 5, 2026

Day 3 of the inaugural Pascuales Bodyboard Pro just went down, and things are seriously heating up at this key stop of the IBC World Tour’s Rising Series. Right after local rider Ilan Chouard claimed the Junior Men’s title and the trials wrapped up, the main Men’s Division event absolutely set Boca de Pascuales beach on fire with near-perfect conditions.

We saw deep barrels and insane air maneuvers from the best riders on the planet, proving once again why this spot is one of the absolute best bodyboarding beaches in the world.

Round 1 (Non-Elimination)

In this opening non-elimination round, the top two riders from each heat punched their ticket straight to Round 3, while third and fourth places were sent to the repechage round for a second chance.

• Fresh off a win at the last IBC event, Chile’s Matías Díaz proved he’s still on an absolute tear, taking first place in his heat. Talented local Kalani Favela followed closely in second.

• Well-known Moroccan pro Brahim Iddouch easily dominated his heat, while Chilean Víctor López also locked in his direct spot to Round 3.

• Mexico’s Jesús Aguirre drove the local crowd wild with one of the sickest performances of the day. He linked a deep tube into a backflip, scoring an 8.5 from the judges and locking in one of the highest total heat scores of the day: a solid 16 points. Young Chilean Mikelle Arriagada advanced in second.

• Two-time World Champ Amaury Lavernhe scored the wave of the day a massive right-hander with a super deep barrel that earned him a whopping 9.0 from the judges. The Frenchman tied Aguirre for the highest heat total of the day with 16 points.

• Michoacán local Alfonso Aguilar showed why he’s the man to beat on his home turf, winning his heat ahead of living legend Pierre Louis Costes from France.

• Young Peruvian standout Fabio Saavedra kept showing off his elite growth by winning his heat against Tahiti’s Tahiri Tehei.

• Meanwhile, Lionel Medina from the Canary Islands crushed it with a flawless left-hand barrel that scored 8 points, followed by Mexico’s Ronaldo Hernández in second.

• Spain’s Armide Soliveres starred in the final heat of the round, putting his elite technical skills on display to win the match, with local rider Andrés Solís taking second to cap off a killer day for the Mexican crew.

Round 2 (Repechage)

With the surf absolutely firing, the organizers gave the green light to roll straight into Round 2, giving the athletes one last shot to stay in the game.

Mexico’s Carlos Cruz and Bryan López, Peru’s Micheel Yancce, and Italy’s Damiano Bonazzi cruised through their heats to move on in first place. The Mexican squad stacked even more riders into the next round, thanks to second-place finishes by Hugo Collins, Oliver Díaz, Miguel Acuña, and Sergio Hernández.

With perfect waves, warm water, and the world’s bodyboarding elite putting on a masterclass, the Pascuales Bodyboard Pro is shaping up to be insane.

The next check-in is scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, July 6 at 6:00 AM (local time), and conditions are expected to be absolutely stellar.
