Iquique Bodyboard Pro Returns: Set to Kick Off World Tour in Chile Once Again

● From May 1st to 10th, the Tarapacá Region will be the epicenter as the International Bodyboard Corporation (IBC) holds the third stop of its world circuit with the Iquique Pro 2024, organized by the Municipal Sports Corporation of Iquique (CORMUDEPI).

● The internationally renowned waves of Iquique: Bellavista and Punta 2, will challenge the best athletes on the planet who will compete for a prize pool of 70,000 USD.

● Chile is a global powerhouse in this sport and is a clear favorite.

With just a few days left until May, the month of the sea, the Land of Champions will celebrate it with a vibrant sporting spectacle with the Iquique Bodyboard Pro 2024.

This year, the regional capital of Tarapacá will host the first stage of the IBC world tour held in Chile, which will later move to the Pearl of the North, where the Antofagasta Bodyboard Festival is also being prepared.

As it is a double date for the grand slam, the best riders in the world are coming for the points and prize money on offer, with nearly 160 athletes from more than 16 countries participating, including Portugal, Japan, France, Spain, Australia, Hawaii, Brazil, Peru, South Africa, and many more.

The Mayor of Iquique, Mauricio Soria Macchiavello, spoke about the importance of this event for the city and its social significance.

“For us, these sports are strategic, as they are a fundamental axis in the tourist and economic recovery of the commune. Additionally, they are ways to bring social well-being and a message of healthy living and happiness, especially to the youngest and the youngest,” said the municipal chief, who also presides over the Municipal Sports Corporation of Iquique.
