Organizers have set October 31, 2026, as the hard deadline for event proposals to lock in the rankings and help athletes plan ahead.
The IBC World Tour leadership just shared a super important strategic update for both current promoters and any new crews looking to join the global tour. To tighten up how the tour runs and raise the bar across the board, the organization has officially locked in the deadlines for pitching and locking down events for the 2027 season.
The big date to remember is October 31, 2026. By that day, every single event aiming for a spot on the 2027 calendar needs to have its formal proposal submitted to the IBC.
Confirmation Deadlines by Event Category
To make sure the tour stays stable, the IBC is handling confirmation requirements differently depending on the type of event:
• Prime Series: These must be 100% locked in, with no exceptions or turning back, before October 31, 2026.
• Rising Series: These need to be registered in the system before that same October 31 deadline. They can be listed as “TBC” (To Be Confirmed) for a bit, but they must be fully locked in at least 90 days before their waiting period kicks off.
A Big Step Toward Professionalizing the Tour
Here is a major game changer for promoters: for the 2027 schedule, anyone wanting to host a Prime Series event has to host a Rising Series event first. This test-run event is where you’ve got to show you have the organizational skills and quality needed to step up to the big leagues later on. This new rule is all about raising the bar across the board for the good of the sport, the riders, and to build a more professional, high quality tour.
The IBC team stressed that tightening up and updating these deadlines comes down to crucial logistics and sports planning. Getting this done early ensures a solid ranking system and a locked-in points distribution before the competitive year even starts.
Plus, redoing the schedule this way directly benefits the competitors. By knowing the tour stops well in advance, athletes from all over the world can map out their budgets, travel plans, and training schedules way more efficiently.
