With 48 total spots available at the Grand Final in Gran Canaria this October, the stakes in Peru couldn’t be higher, the top six athletes standing at Punta Negra will automatically secure their tickets to the Grand Final.

Momentum for the event began building this past Saturday with a vibrant Opening Ceremony. The celebration was highlighted by the presence of Peru’s own Micheel Yancce (“Pirpo”), the 2023 Junior World Champion. Now 20 years old and aged out of the Junior division, Yancce was on hand to mentor and inspire the next gen of Peruvian talent looking to follow in his championship footsteps.

The competitive draw features a fierce field of over 40 registered riders from across the globe. Headlining the roster are prominent tour figures, including Guilherme Montenegro (Brazil), Cristobal Tobar (Chile), and local standout Lucciano Campos (Peru), who has already secured his Grand Final spot after winning the opening Rising Series event of the season in Morocco.

With two full days of competition scheduled for August 3rd and 4th, organizers anticipate pristine conditions at the Punta Roca break.
