With the conclusion of Women’s Round Five determining the Quarter Finals and the men battling through Round 4, the competition has reached a fever pitch. In the women’s division, top contenders like the Brazilian World Number 2, Luna Hardman, have advanced, setting the stage for an exciting quarterfinals showdown. 

Meanwhile, on the men’s side, standout performances from athletes like Argentinian Patricio Galay and former World Champion Tristan Roberts have left spectators in awe.

The Iquique Bodyboard Pro 2024 has officially reached its main stages, signaling a pivotal moment in the competition’s progression. Both the men’s and women’s divisions witnessed fierce battles and remarkable performances on the fourth day of competition. In the Women’s Round Five, the spotlight shone on top-seeded riders as they vied for coveted spots in the Quarter Finals. Notably, the Brazilian Luna Hardman, currently holding the World Number 2 rank, showcased her prowess, securing her spot in the next round. With contenders like Joana Schenker, Alexandra Rinder, Luna Hardman, Namika Yamashita, Maira Viana, Neymara Carvalho and Maylla Venturin advancing into the Quarter Finals anticipation builds for an electrifying finals day in the Women’s Division. 

On the men’s side, the day was marked by standout displays of skill and precision. Argentinian rider Patricio Galay stole the show with an exceptional barrel ride, earning the highest single score of the competition, a remarkable 9 points. Meanwhile, Joaquin Soto’s impressive performance in Round 3 earned him a total score of 15.50 points, setting a high standard for competitors. However, the competition also witnessed the early exit of athletes like Brahim Iddouch, Éder Luciano, and Joel Rodrigues, who were unable to advance past the elimination stage into Round 4.

As the day progressed, the excitement continued with Round 4 for the men’s division. Top-seeded riders, including world number 1, Gabriel Braga, and number 2 Armide Soliveres, delivered outstanding performances, securing their spots in Round 6 with excellent scores. Yet, the highlight of the day belonged to former world champion Tristan Roberts, who earned a perfect 10-point ride at Punta 2 right-hander, coupled with a 7.90 ride, totaling an impressive 17.90 points in his opening round.
