Day 2 of Competition: Women and Junior Men Shine Bright in the Initial Rounds.

The second day of competition at the Iquique Bodyboard Pro saw women and junior men taking center stage, showcasing their skills in favorable conditions after two days of Lay Day due to unfavorable wind conditions. Despite a slight texture remaining in the sea due to lingering effects from the previous days’ rough weather, the athletes delivered impressive performances.

In the Women’s category, Peruvian junior [Name] stole the spotlight, clinching first place in her heat with a score of 11.65, demonstrating excellent maneuver combinations. Meanwhile, South African athlete Pamela Bowen secured the highest score of the day with an impressive total of 12.50, showcasing her seasoned competition experience, particularly in challenging conditions. Noteworthy was the performance of the tour’s sole Australian competitor, young Ebony Shell, who topped her heat and is set to face top contenders Maira Viana and Teresa Padrela in the upcoming rounds.

In the Junior Men’s division, Peruvian athletes Omar Espinoza and Luis Esteban Bravo delivered standout performances in the first round, scoring totals of 13.75 and 13.65, respectively. In the second round, young Hawaiian surfer Analu Yockman emerged victorious with a score of 13.40, securing his spot directly in the third round.
