The final day of the Antofagasta Bodyboard Festival 2024 culminated in an exhilarating display of talent and sportsmanship at Llacolén Beach. The competition, which has drawn the world’s best bodyboarders, concluded with thrilling finals across multiple categories.
Junior Women: Luna Hardman from Brazil triumphed, securing the Junior World Championship title after a series of intense heats.
Men’s Open: In a gripping final, Brazil’s Socrates Santana emerged victorious, defeating France’s Pierre Louis Costes.
Women’s Open: The Women’s division saw stellar performances, with Japan’s Yuka Nishimura clinching the top spot, showcasing her exceptional skills against tough competitors.
Dropknee: In the Dropknee category, Fabien Thazar from France claimed the title, displaying remarkable consistency and technique throughout the event.
Junior Men: The Junior Men’s finals saw a fierce battle, with up-and-coming talents vying for the championship. The title was claimed by Mikelle Arriagada, demonstrating the promising future of the sport.
The festival, presented by Escondida | BHP and SQM Yodo Nutrición Vegetal, also featured the International Fair for Entrepreneurship, Tourism, and Social Innovation (FETURIS), which highlighted local culture and innovation. The event concluded with vibrant performances by regional bands, adding to the festive atmosphere.
