The world tour’s Portuguese leg officially launched today in Costa Nova, setting the stage ahead of the iconic Sintra stop. Marking a major milestone, the prestigious Miss Quebramar Cup is making its debut on the IBC World Tour as part of the Women’s Division under the Rising Series banner.

Even with less-than-ideal wave conditions for opening day, the riders threw down some serious talent in the water. Rician rounds 1 and 2 wrapped up, locking in the top eight athletes moving on to fight for the title.

• Round 1: Lower-ranked IBC competitors battled it out for a spot in the main draw. Local talents Mariana Silva, Teresa Ádrela, and Marta Leitão crushed their heats alongside Peru’s Solange Chia, all advancing in first place.

• Round 2: The heavy hitters entered the mix, with the Brazilian crew absolutely dominating:

◦ Luna Hardman: The reigning World Junior Champion put up the highest heat total of the day with a solid 13.25.

◦ Maira Viana: The former World Champ stacked a 12.30 total to easily secure her spot.

◦ Bianca Simões: Dropped a killer performance, trailing Viana by just 0.5 points.

◦ Neymara Carvalho: The 5x World Champ proved once again why she’s a top contender to take the whole thing home.

Finals Day Showdown

Check-in for the final day is set for tomorrow at 9:00 AM local time. The action will run straight through the quarterfinals, semifinals, and the big final to crown the new Costa Nova champ.
